Term Life

As an actively-employed CSEA Member, you can purchase Term Plus life insurance that is easy on your budget. Best all, as a CSEA member, your premiums are paid through the convenience of payroll deduction. Your minimum amount of coverage is determined by your age and your monthly salary. However, you can apply for up to $300,000. 

  • Important:  No evidence of insurability is required if you enroll within the first seven months of employment. This guarantees that you will be issued the minimum amount of Life Insurance coverage available to you based on your monthly salary.
  • Dependent Coverage available for spouse and/or dependent children.
  • Pays double when death is due to an accident (for active members only).
  • Premiums waived when member is totally disabled.
  • Affordable group insurance.
  • Premiums paid by payroll deduction.
  • Insurance can be continued into retirement with premiums deducted from the retiree pay warrant.
  • Living Benefit: If you are deemed terminally ill a portion of your death benefit may be advanced to you.

Group Ordinary Life

As an actively employed member of CSEA, you are eligible for the Group Ordinary Life Insurance plan. Unlike the Term Plus plan, the Group Ordinary Life plan builds up cash value while providing Life Insurance protection. Your premiums are paid through the convenience of payroll deduction. Besides the amount of your coverage (paid to your beneficiary in the event of death) Group Ordinary Life insurance builds Cash Value, which is available to you in cash should you discontinue your coverage prior to a death claim being paid.

  • Important: No evidence of insurability is required if you enroll within the first seven months of employment. This guarantees that you will be issued the minimum amount of Life Insurance coverage available to you based on your monthly salary.
  • Dependent Coverage is available for your spouse and/or dependent unmarried children.
  • Pays double when death is due to and accident (for active members only).
  • Premiums waived when a member is totally disabled.
  • Affordable group insurance rates for this CSEA plan.
  • Premiums paid by payroll deduction.
  • Cash values are paid to you should you discontinue this plan for any reason.
  • Coverage may increase as your salary increases.

Insurance can continue into retirement.

Supplemental Ordinary Life coverage with cash values may be purchased as a rider to provide more coverage to your Group Ordinary Life insurance.
