The Sacramento Bee has an on-line database which makes it easy for anyone to determine the department, workplace and salary of any state or CSU employee. While this information is a matter of public record, the Bee's callous disregard of security and privacy issues has aroused widespread anger among state workers. Several state employee organizations are considering introducing legislation to protect employee privacy.
